Alpine Linux:

One of my personal favorite linux distros. I am currently stuck on Windows 11, however, I may be able to flash linux onto my Thinkpad at some point. This thing is defined by 3 words: Small, Simple, Secure.

Alpine is so light that it is commonly used in docker containers and VMs. It bases itself off busybox, OpenRC, and musl, to keep the smallest possible footprint. Desktop Alpine is still very good however, as most of it is setup via scripts. It also ends up being quite light, with, in my experience with XFCE, it being roughly 500MB to 1GB of RAM usage.
